The first meeting of the Burnstown Women's Institute was held at he home of Mrs. Forrester on January 16, 1911.  Mrs. J.G. Blane was President and Agnes McLachlin was Secretary Treasurer.  The preparation of eggs and poultry was the topic set for the March meeting.  A suggestion of cards for entertainment was rejected " on account of the evils to which it led" . This fond consists of five microfilm reels containing minutes and the first two books of the Institute's Tweedsmuir history.
