Born in 1809, Daniel McLachlin bought 400 acres of land in Arnprior in 1851, He is
generally regarded as the person most responsible for Arnprior's growth in the 19th
century. He is foremost known for his involvement in the timber trade. Collection consists
of letters to and from Daniel McLachlin concerning both personal and business matters.
