To facilitate research, the collections have been grouped according to subject matter. Each group or category is a menu option. Each option links to a web page index which, in turn, links to brief descriptions of specific collections.

Collection descriptions do not include information about access or copyright restrictions.

Search Tips

1) Simple word searches are most successful. eg "McDonald" or "Gillies".

2) Complicated phrases, such as "any McDonald family member", will result in no records found.

3) Two word searches, such as: "Kenwood Mills" will produce descriptions of holdings with the words 'Kenwood' or 'Mills', such as: Waba Mills, McLachlin Mills or Gillies Mills.
