Researching family history has become a very popular and, for some people, a very consuming hobby.  In this column we will explore the various documents and sources of information, how to gain access to them, how to overcome problems and ‘brick walls’, and other sources of help.  You can have a role in making it more useful by sharing your nuggets, problems, and questions.  I look forward to word from you at the e-mail address below.

The column was designed to appear weekly in the local newspapers and it shows this bias. Some columns that were time sensitive have not been included, as they would no longer be relevant and others have been modified slightly to remove the bias.

In order to facilitate your search for information there is an index to the topics covered in the various columns. If you do not find what you are looking for, let me know and I will try to deal with it in a future column.

 A Note About URLs   Unfortunately some URLs disappear or change over time and therefore some of the ones you find in a column may no longer be valid at the time when you read the column. When that happens, you may have to ‘Google’ for the new URL or for a new source of the information that you want. If you have no luck, you can e-mail me at the address below and I will try to help you find what you are looking for.
